Observance of the rights of victims is an important and decisive factor for criminal justice.

Therefore, this study aims to determine the rights of crime victims in international law and foe procedures to achieve these rights without prejudice to foe rights of the defendants.

The study revealed a significant change in foe position of international law concerning the rights of victims in tire last three decades.

Suffering of victims has been recognized.

Therefore, victims were given a greater role in participating in criminal proceedings.

They were also allowed to claim redress, especially for compensation before international tribunals.

Several unique measures for their protection and safety were provided.

There was also a variety of procedures to achieve foe rights of victims provided that foe exercise of these measures should not conflict with the rights to defend foe defendant.
