The history of the transformational industries is connected in all the country to the beginning of the modern Iraqi state in 1921 but this history is not positively reflected in the industry of the Governorate of Babylon until the rise of the new era in 1958 because many great institutions were established by the general sector.
The importance of the industry has increased in the 1980's but the economic blockade beginning in 1991 left dark shadows on the industry.
