Abstract EN

The study aimed to identify the concept of child abuse, its forms and indicators from the perspectives of students at The Faculty of Educational Sciences and Arts (FESA) / UNRWA.

To achieve the objectives of the study, the researchers developeda questionnaire consisting of (64) items distributed amongst four domains: Physical, sexual,emotional, and neglectfulness.

The items of the questionnaire were applied to (194) male and female students fromFESA.

Results revealed that the descending orders of the domains by respondents were: neglectfulness, emotional, sexual and physical abuse respectively.

The study also showed that the respondents refused abuse: forms and justifications.

Results also showed that there were no statistically significant differences among the respondents in child abuse that can be attributed to the variables of gender, high school stream, cumulative GPA, and place of residence.

However, there were statistically significant differences among the respondents in the domain of emotional abuse and on all the items of the questionnaire that can be attributed to the variable of the parents’ education level in favor of students whose parents’ education level is less than high school.
