Abstract EN

This paper attempts to outline the concept of security، but with a special emphasize on collective security.

The main focus will be on the Gulf security environment considering the ongoing events in Syria and Yemen، the impact of the Arab Spring، and the increasing of Iranian threat.

The paper predicts two scenarios for the future of the region.

One is pessimist، in which the region is driven into a direct military confrontation with Iran in the light of unprecedented ideological mobilizations and tension.

In the other scenario، the countries in the region will try to find a new formula for coexistence in light of the sacrifices from the two parties.
