Abstract EN

It is important to study Arabic books that are loaded with linguistic issues.

This study explores Aba Helal Al-Askari’s Forouq (Differences), which contains several linguistic and cognitive issues.

The book can be studied from phonetic, morphological and syntactic points of view.

This study gathered some syntactic issues that appeared in the book which the author discussed through the use of syntax to compare between letters, words, and sentences.

Then, this study sorted these issues and categorised and explained them according to their order in Al-Áskari’s book explaining his method in studying them.

Where issues were controversial, these issues were presented to grammarians to be discussed.

This study is mainly about the methodologies Arabs used to differentiate between meanings depending on syntax.

The study also explored the role of Al-Áskari in this field which provided Arabic syntax with a scientific material that is worth of studying and exploring.
