Abstract EN

This study aimed at investigating the effectiveness of a certain counseling program on the psychological adjustment of Rehabilitation and Reconciliation Centers residents in Palestine.

An available sample of (40) residents participated in the study, Shugir psychological adjustment scale was implemented simultaneously with (16) sessions physiological adjustment counseling program.

The Quasiexperimental method was implemented in the study.

A proposed counseling program with (16) sessions over six months was applied on the experimental group of the study.

The results of the study indicated differences on the psychological adjustment scale in favor of the post application of the scale, which means that the program helped the residents to improve the degree of psychological adjustment on all the domains of the scale.

The study also indicated that there were no significant differences on the psychological adjustment scale due to the period of sentence, educational level, type of crime and marital status.
