Abstract EN

The research aims to find standard scales for some of the athletics events (110 hurdles running, 400 running, 400m hurdles, triple jumping) among students in the third level in the department of the basic physical education at Kirimiyan University.

The researcher used the descriptive survey approach due to its appropriateness to the nature of the research.

The research population was determined from the students of the third level in the department of the basic physical education, school of basic education, at Kirimiyan University for the academic year (2014-2015), who were of 42 students.

All of the research population were chosen as the research sample.

Special tests were conducted for the researched events.

In order to reach conclusions, the researchers used Excel as a statistical instrument, and through analyzing the data, several conclusions were made, such as: the individuals of the research sample were in compliance in the tests under study (110 hurdles running, 400 running, 400m hurdles, triple jumping) collectively.

It was found out that there was standard scales for some of the athletics events, which were: (110 hurdles running, 400 running, 400m hurdles, triple jumping) under study.

The researcher recommended that: relying on the standard scales concluded in the research in order to evaluate the results obtained from the students during the tests for the athletics events; the possibility of making use of the scales obtained by the researchers in the tests of athletics in the faculties and departments of physical education at Kirimiayn University.
