Abstract EN

This study aimed to know the predictive ability of secondary school average in accumulative average for student learning in private universities.

A random sample consisted of 400 students (Males and females) in two private Universities in the following subjects Arabic language, English language, computer and Mathematics is used.

Pearson coefficient of correlation and simple regression were applied to estimate the power of correlation and predictive ability.

The results revealed that the average of secondary School doesn't work as a good predictor of achievement in private universities, because correlation between secondary School average and student cumulative average is weak (0.23 - 0.37).

The study derived predictive regression equations of the accumulative average when graduating from private universities.

This study recommends using these equations for the university acceptance purposes.
