Abstract EN

This paper aimed to investigate the strategic planning and its role in crisis management in the Yemenia Airways company, through the answer to the major question of the paper: what is the role of strategic planning in the effectiveness of crisis management?.

The researchers adopted the descriptive method and depended in building the theoretical framework on the previous studies and sources.

A questionnaire was developed as a tool for data collection and analyzed the data collected by using SPSS.

The sample was (119) employees of the overall population of the paper.

The paper has come up with several findings, foremost of which are that a large proportion of the sample are unaware of strategic planning significance.

The management of the company also has no clear vision to develop its strengths and minimize weaknesses and doesn’t develop strategic plans carefully.

The paper recommended that there is a need for adopting a qualification and training program for the employees of Yemenia Airways company in terms of strategic planning and develop sufficient and ready plans and programs for crisis management, as well as continuous evaluation and analysis of the potential crises and risks.
