English Abstract
In this work, a suggested analytical solution for nonlinear static and dynamic analysis of (fiber-reinforced) composite laminated thick plate is developed by using the single layer theories.
Which are classical theory (CLPT), and first-order shear deformation theory (FSDT).
The dynamic analyses for equations of motion, for those theories are presented.
Solution is solved by using the modal analysis of forced vibration.
A computer program was built for this purpose for anti-symmetric cross-ply and angle-ply, simply supported thick laminated plate and the developed equations are solved by using (MATLAB V.7) program.
The finite-element solution is also adopted using (ANSYS V8) package, to confirm the analytical results.
Both above approaches use (FSDT) and include the effect of shear deformation and rotary inertia .
in order to obtain the material properties of the used plates and to study the plate behavior under static load and measuring the strain and deflection from which the structures are obtained and compared with the numerical results .It is also used for study the plate behavior under dynamic load by conducted free vibration for some models to study the behavior under variables.
an Instructional package was built depending on (Aless and Stephen model and IQS) models .
The results presented show the effect of plate thickness-to-side ratio (h/a), aspect ratio (a/b), number of layers (N), the degree of orthotropy ratio (E1/E2), fiber orientation, boundary conditions, lamination scheme, and the effect of shear deformation and rotary inertia on the thick laminated plate.
It is shown that the deflection and stresses in the plate decrease with increasing the number of layers, the degree of orthotropy ratio, and thickness to length ratio of thick laminated plates and they decrease with decreasing of the aspect ratio of thick laminated plates.
In addition, the results indicate that the developed deflection and stresses for clamped thick laminated plate are less than those for simply supported plate.
The developed deflection and stresses for angle-ply (45/-45/…) thick laminated plates are less than those for cross-ply (0/90/…) thick laminated plates in simply supported boundary condition and the situation is reversed in clamped boundary condition.
The values of the developed deflection and stresses for simply supported thick laminated plates are increased, if the effects of the shear deformation and rotary inertia are taken into account.
The main conclusions which can be drawn from this study are that The suggested analytical solution is a powerful tool for static and dynamic analyses of thick composite laminated plates.
The amplitude values of deflection and stress for angle-ply (45/-45/…) thick laminated plates are less than that for cross-ply (0/90/…) thick laminated plates in simply supported boundary condition.
And the situation is reversed in clamped boundary condition.
The transverse shear stresses (txz) and (tyz) in case of using anti-symmetric angle-ply (45/-45/-45…) lamination is more than using anti-symmetric cross-ply (0/90/0/…) lamination.
Finally the Instructional package method has an important effect on achieving engineering learning by increasing learner's comprehension and skill building.
