Abstract EN

The idea of the radicals in the " thesaurus of measurements" is base on the idea of the classification of the roots under the radicals category, these are numerous in the measurements, and they may have one radical or two, or three, or four or even five, however, this division was not true to all roots in the thesaurus, some of the roots were categorized as a word, a structure, a particle, or something else, not only this, but some roots were categorized as not a radical at all, or is not a thing, as well as others which have not been categorized at all.

Ibn Faris meant by the radical the meaning, and hunted for the accuracy of the semantic meaning of the roots, he mentioned the absolute semantic , and mentioned restricted.

He showed us the restricted and its multiplicity form physical, ethical, unconstructive,or constructive variations.

In the study we examined the roots regardless of their Radicals, or categorizations, to expose the breadth of the semantic meaning, and how they can be classified under the more than one radical or more than one label, we discovered that the semantic field can be located in the general semantic meaning of the root or its connotation, as can be located in the indication of its derivatives, so study included two sections: the first is the general semantic field of the roots or the linguistic radicals, and the second the precise semantic fields of derivative roots which can be seen in some examples .
