Abstract EN

This paper seeks to clarify all of the nature, the importance, and the goals of learning mathematics in primary school.

It also discusses dyscalculia and learning disabilities, their classification, and their underlying theoretical models.

By this search we conclude that Dyscalculia is not necessarily due to brain damage (loss), but a specific cognitive state due to a metacognitive dysfunctionning.

The latter is a mere handicap in information processing model in the working memory.
