Abstract EN

This study dealt with the theme of the self-esteem and respect according to John Rawls, and showed that the basis of self- respect in a fair society is the publicly certain distribution of fundamental rights and freedoms; and that the self-esteem for Rawls is the most valuable in social initial good works, because it is a feature that is characterized by centralization and fundamentality at human beings.

The study was divided into three sections; a preliminary section that addresses the relationship between the concept of self-respect and appreciation, through three demands: self-concept and characteristics, self-appreciation, and the types of self- appreciation (high self- appreciation, and low self- high).

In the first section, the study demonstrated the value of the person for John Rawls; as well as the person's value for Immanuel Kant.

The second section titled: self-respect for John Rawls that was addressed through three sections.

In the first section, the nature of self-respect for John Rawls was addressed.

The second section showed the basics of self-respect for Rawls and contribution in determining the principles governing the infra-structure of society
