Gained the Balkans a major international importance because of its strategic location and the complexity of national and religious composition, and became this region of the areas of the bitter conflict between the Ottoman Empire major European countries since the mid-fourteenth century, this conflict was resolved in favor of the Ottomans at the end of the sixteenth century, and created conditions experienced by the Ottoman Empire and the poor economic and financial positions adequate opportunity to compete with European countries, especially Russia and Austria-Hungary, to expand its political influence in the Balkan Peninsula, as well as that the growing nationalism of the Balkan peoples for liberation from Ottoman domination.
