Abstract EN

This study dealt with the strategies employed by the Palestinian worker in his struggle to survive as well as in his attempts to coexist with the drastic political and economic conditions under the policies of closure and siege being imposed on the Palestinians in the occupied territories.

These policies have forced Palestinian families to adopt some measures in order to adapt themselves with these changeable and unsettled situations.

On the other hand, the study focused on a number of Palestinian families which were selected carefully as its subjects.

The interview method was employed with these families as the main tool of collecting data in addition to the researcher‘s observations which ultimately made it possible to present an obvious and comprehensive picture about the subject families.

However, the study revealed a distinctive difference in the way each family chose to adapt itself with the problems it was facing.

Moreover, the study showed that the families who enjoyed a higher educational level, regardless of sex, were able to adapt themselves better than those with lower educational level.

Besides, all families did not give in to the bitter reality.

On the contrary, they adapted themselves to confront any urgency making use of their previous experiences.

The main recommendation which the study suggests is that all families are in need of job opportunities to overcome the present difficult conditions in addition to new legislations which protect the worker in all circumstances.
