Islam encourages business and trade which is a token of trust upon Allah.
Islamic financial system ensures equal rights for every citizen to have business and earn the profit legitimately.
Neither does Islam neither exploit like communism nor minimize the capital to some limited hands.
During the industrial revolution, Europe has developed a system where business loss is restricted to an investor.
Thus to save the financer form any possible financial loss they designed the system of insurance.
Insurance is very common nowadays especially in the business world.
Not only companies and their assets are insured but life and health of the employees are also insured.
Being a complete set of beliefs and style of living Islam provides guidance for us concerning the issues related to insurance.
Many authors have penned their findings on this important topic in their articles, books, research papers, and journals and still there is lot of to be discovered.
In this research article, I have focused on four major points regarding the nature of insurance, its meaning and reality.
The second point sheds light on the various ruling of Islamic scholars concerning the status of insurance.
The third point provides Islamic alternative in place of prevailing insurance.
The fourth and last point of my article elaborates the discussion on the necessity of insurance.
