This research aims to identify the level of sensory integration disorder, emotional communication and cognitive deficiency in autistic children, the nature of the relation between the variables and the statistically significant differences according to variables (gender, training and age).
The research also aims to identify the contribution of each subscale in sensory integration disorder to each subscale in emotional communication scale and cognitive deficiency scale.
To achieve the goals of the research, the researchers adopted the scale of Carol Stock Kranowitz's for sensory integration disorder, preparing a scale for emotional communication and a test for cognitive deficiency (by the researchers).
Then the researcher ensured about the psychometric properties of the three scales.
The research sample was chosen intentionally.
The final number of the sample was (70) autistic children in central Erbil.
The correlation descriptive method was utilized.
The results showed that there is sensory integration disorder in most of the autistic children, they have a good level of emotional communication but they have cognitive deficit.
There are not any statistically significant differences in sensory integration disorder, emotional communication and cognitive deficiency according to variables (gender and age) but there are significant differences according to (training).
There is a statistically insignificant relation between sensory integration disorder and emotional communication, but there is a statistically significant relation between sensory integration disorder with cognitive deficiency scale and fear subscale in emotional communication scale.
There is also a significant contribution of emotional communication in signs of auditory dysfunction.
Concerning emotional responses and anger subscales are significant in signs of tactile dysfunction and signs visual of visual input dysfunction.
Concerning fear subscale is significant in sings of proprioceptive dysfunction.
Concerning anxiety subscale and expressing and understanding emotions subscale there is not any significant subscale.
Concerning cognitive deficiency is significant in sings of visual input dysfunction.
Concerning imitation subscale is significant in signs of auditory dysfunction and, signs of affactory dysfunction and sings of visual input dysfunction.
Concerning attention scale is significant in signs of auditory dysfunction.
Concerning memory subscale, all the subscales in sensory integration disorder are statistically insignificant.
Concerning perception subscale the contribution is significant in signs of affactory dysfunction and sings of visual input dysfunction.
