English Abstract
The city of Jerusalem, one of the oldest Islamic cities are the first Qiblah and the third holiest shrine after Mecca and Medina which is the subject of attention of human beings since ancient times.
It dates back to the time of the Canaanites, and has considerable attention by Muslims in time of the Islamic State.
Muslims interested in building and planning the cty in line with the spirit and teachings of Islam to ensure that it will meet the needs of the population regarding social, economic, and security needs.
The city has passed through several phases of expansion and reconstruction, especially in the Umayyad and Fatimid, and settled in its final form in the Ottoman period.
The research aims to shed light on the most important policies of urban areas in the Ottoman period in the city of Jerusalem by monitoring the history of the most important facilities in the city in terms of construction and renovation.
The researchers adopted a scientific methodology based on a description of the historical aspects through five main areas.
The first point gives a general overview about the city of Jerusalem, while the second point addressed the evolution of the city of Jerusalem during the period of the Ottoman Empire.
The third point discusses the construction policy of the Ottoman state of the city of Jerusalem, while the fourth point is monitoring the most important historical facilities of the Ottoman Empire related to the construction and renovation of the city.
The fifth and last point concluded the most important findings and recommendations related to the objective of the study.
