The aim of this study is the definition of the social responsibility as a basic recent notion, and to explore the level of its importance among institutions.

this notion is widespread because it is so crucial for the success of institutions and for reaching their goals, especially the serving of the society and acquiring the competitive quality that will guarantee for each institution the power to practice in order to establish for society all opportunities leading to local development.

The second objective is to explore its important dimensions and criteria that facilitate the assessment of the social responsibility.
