English Abstract

The Gaza strip is a high populated area with very limited land availability.

Therefore, it has one of the greatest population density in the world.

This situation leads to higher building intensity.

As a result, several phenomena have been emerged in local housing reality, especially, the remarkable increase of housing corporations which established high-rise towers and apartment buildings.

The vast majority of residential areas in Gaza strip lacks the adequate public services.

This undermines the possibilities of creating housing environment which can contribute in improving the social relationships among residents.

This lack of services is more obvious in the new large-scale housing projects, which usually produce large density without sufficient services and public spaces.

The formation of these societies is established, in most cases, by a group of people linked with the same profession or place of work.

This kind of neighborhood may bring to the residential area others aspects : the work relationships with all its instability and changeable character.

Thus, the assessment of social aspects of these societies, which usually produce a neighborhood with residents from the same environment as the workplace, can promote the principles of the collective housing projects in Gaza strip and clarifies the methods of consolidating the social relations in such cases.

This paper attempts to analyze a real case study of a apartment building in which residents from the ame institution have been got together.

Hence, this paper aims at evaluating the satisfaction of the residents on having people in their housing place consistent with their workplace.

The hypothesis of this study is that this situation can make the working atmosphere more friendly, but at the same time may transfer to the residential environment work stresses and its adverse impacts.
