Abstract EN

The study aimed at detecting the degree of moral intelligence of students at AlZaytoonah University of Jordan, according to their point of view, and the impact of the variables of gender and faculty and their interaction thereon.

For that purpose, the researchers designed a seven- aspect scale of moral intelligence distributed to a random sample of (453) male and female students in their first semester (2015- 2016) .

The results of the study have shown that AlZaytoonah University students have a high degree of moral intelligence as a whole.

However, significant differences have been indicated in the variables of gender and faculty in favor of female students, in comparison with male students, and of scientific faculties in comparison with humanities.

The results have also indicated significant differences resulting from the interaction between gender and faculty variables in the aspects of shyness, respect and empathy, also in favor of scientific faculties and of female students.

The study recommends that the university environment (lectures, extra-curricular activities, conferences, seminars and students’ councils) be invested in developing the various aspects of students’ moral intelligence.
