Abstract EN

The study aims at investigating the differences in the psychological hardness among Riyadh high school students that may be attributed to the scholastic year, the academic major and the number of the student’s family members.

To that end, the researcher adopted the random stratified method in selecting the (n 1248) male participants of the study.

The researcher adopted the psychological hardness scale (Al-Maqati, 2012).

Results showed that there were statistical differences at the level of 0.05 between the mean scores of the 3rd grade students and those of the 1st grade students on the psychological hardness scale in favor of the former.

Moreover, there were statistically significant differences at the level of 0.05 between the scores of the 2nd grade students and those of the 1st grade students on the overall score of psychological hardness scale and two sub-scales : commitment and challenge in favor of the 2nd grade students.

In addition, there were statistically significant differences at the level of 0.05 between the scores of the 3rd grade students and those of the 2nd grade students on the overall score of psychological hardness scale and one sub-scale : control in favor of the 3rd grade students.
