Abstract EN

The study aimed to verify the general characteristics of psychological stress for mothers of children with cancer at the National Center for radiotherapy and nuclear medicine (Alamal Tower) in Khartoum state, It also aimed to identify differences in demographic variables of (educational level of the mothers, the gender of children with cancer , age of the children with cancer.) To investigate this goal the researcher followed the descriptive method , the researcher used the psychological stress scale designed by the researcher.

The sample was selected deliberately consiste of (36) or from the mothers of children with cancer.

Treatment of the data was by using The Statistical Package for Social Sciences(SPSS).

The study found the following results: symptoms of Psychological stress in the study simple was average in all items of the scale except the axis of anxiety which was low.There was no differences in the scores of psychological stress among mothers of children with cancer and the gender of child in all itemes except the burden in favor of females, There was no differences in the test scores of psychological stress among mothers of children with cancer and a variable level of education of mothers, There was no nosignificant differences in the test scores of psychological stress among mothers of children with cancer and variable age of the child, ; In the lights of these results the researcher developed a number of recommendations including :Providing menthors with counselors in all centers and hospitals concerned to support the mothers of children with cancer, male and female, to accept their children's disease.
