Ali has approached an Islamic bank with a request to assist him to buy out the shares of his minority partner Akram in a running foodstuff business. He cannot meet with the demand of Akram for full down payment for the value of shares and is requesting the bank to finance him for the purpose and that he would pay back the financed amount to the bank in three years by way of quarterly installments. The bank has sought Shariah guidance as to whether it could finance Ali Islamically to acquire the shares.
