In “ The valley of darkness” the novelist discourse gives answers of a self that looks for itself n society.

Abdelmalek Mourtadhacould escape from the classical narration to find a unique type of art as he could expose the reality by using the language of narration.

And the novelists dealt with three topics(colonization ،terrorism and the cultured person)by using a set of narrative techniques.

Concerning Mourtadha’s type of narration that he used in “the valley of darkness” is considered as a continuation to his previous novels but with more concentration on the narration style.

and the novel used a simple language and some dialectic expressions.
