Abstract EN

This paper aims to assess the extent to which consumer protection is regulated within the Saudi legal system by examining the relevant legislations and their effectiveness.

This paper aims to provide a comparative study mainly between the Egyptian Law with some reference to the Jordanian and UK law in order to determine the best outcome to apply to the Saudi law.

It is evident from the research that the Saudi law lacks general legal rules to protect consumers as the weak contracting parties.

Although there are Ministerial decisions that have been issued to provide some consumer protection, it is felt that such decisions remain inadequate in protecting the consumers.

For instance consumers will is not respected as a result of prejudice imposed upon them from other contracting parties.
