These clauses have become standard terms in insurance contracts.

Parties to the contract use this mechanism to take the advantage of the experience and specialization of the arbitral tribunal, which most time surpasses that in the judiciary in this area.

Jordanian law regulates arbitration clause in insurance contracts, and imposes particular restrictions on the parties of the contract.

For example the arbitration clause must be written and must be separate from the insurance policies.

As well as the law requires the insurer to inform the insured about the arbitration clause.

In order to encourage public to use arbitration in future disputes Jordan has recently issued legislation regulate arbitration proceedings in insurance disputes.
