This research aims to the adaptation of Maslach Burnout Inventory in his version intended to the human services (MBI-HSS) to educational professions in the Algerian environment.
Adopting a descriptive approach, a final version of (MBI-HSS) translated into Arabic has been applied on a cluster sample of 924 Professor to indentify its psychometric characteristics.
The results were as followed To assess its validity, construct validity has been adopted through the use of factorial analysis method (the principal components method) and Varimax rotation.
Three factors have been retained similarly to the original version of (MBI-HSS) (emotional exhaustion, depersonalization, personal accomplishment).
- Scores’ reliability has been estimated through internal consistency (a significant and high Cronbach's alpha) (0.95), and split half method using Guttman equation that revealed a significant and high coefficient for both parts of the scale (0.82, 0.82) with the global scores, and (0.91) between both parts.
- New norms have been set for each axe (emotional exhaustion, depersonalization, personal accomplishment) using Q uartiles.
In light of these results some suggestions inspired from this kind of researches in our society have been proposed
