Abstract EN

This study is to discuss an important issue, which has importance in the practical application, in the same time, of interest to a large segment of people who are interested in maritime transport.

This issue is the Shipfare maturity in the transport of goods according to the law of the Jordanian maritime trade This issue was discussed in three sections: the first section discussed the conditions under which the lessor is entitled to request the ship fare.

while in the second section discussed conditions under which the lessor has no right to request the ship fare.

last section discussed conditions that affect the entitlement of ship fare which was not stated in the Jordanian Trade Maritime Act.

This study concluded that entitlement of ship fare differs between the ship lease contract and contract bail shipment, and the Jordanian maritime legislator in article (184 / b) gave the right to the carrier for the full fare.

While in article (279) gave two thirds of the same fare.

Furthermore this study concluded that Jordanian legislator in the Trade Maritime Act didn't discuss many possibilities that could be happened which could affect the fare such as: very late arrival, or after the specified time, lessor could offload the goods unjustifiably, or unjustifiably deviate the ship route, or ship destruction.

Therefore, we discussed those issues as much as possible and suggested that thes be addressed by the Jordanian legislator.
