Abstract EN
This thesis focuses on the announcement of the Indonesian direct confrontation policy upon the establishment of the Malaysian Union in 1963.
The Indonesian president, Sukarno called such policy as "The Confrontation Policy" which was intended to counteract the Malaysian Union.
The Malaysian Union was set to unite the Malayan Union, Singapore, Brunei Sabah and Sarawak.
Sukarno was interested in expanding his state to include the Burino islands, Sabah and Sarawak against the will of the Philippines which was interested in Sabah and the will of international policy which was more interested in the revival of Malaysia.
