In the present the State of Qatar did not play a major role in policy development or European power supply, but this is taking the change of the vital role that practiced in the world gas exports, particularly liquefied natural gas (LNG), as it considers the Gulf state currently the largest gas exporter LNG the world's 85 % of the gas exports, which are in liquid form, which is the second source of natural gas in the world, and the fourth largest producer of natural gas and dry in the world, after the United States, Russia and Iran, the third well has the largest gas reserves in the world is equivalent to almost three times the reserves of the United States, reaching the amount of Qatar production of 158.5 billion cubic meters, while the export is the amount of 105.6 billion cubic meters.

In contrast, Russia's production began dwindling because of the Ukrainian crisis and European countries to reduce dependence on Russian gas, as output totaled 604.8 billion cubic meters in 2013, but what comes out is the amount of 191.3 billion cubic meters, there is no rapprochement between Russia and Qatar in the amount of global marketing of natural gas.
