Abstract EN

This study aimed at identifying the level of metacognitive thinking amongst students of university expatriate in Irbid National University in the light of the variables of: Gender, faculty type, academic year, and academic achievement level.

The sample of the study consisted of (367) students: (208) males and (159) females.

The results of the study revealed that the 1sample of the study showed a high level of metacognitive thinking at the total score level, and at the level of each domain separately: cognition processing, regulation of cognition and knowledge of cognition.

The results revealed that are differences in metacognitive thinking level to the gender in the favor of males, and results showed that there are differences in metacognitive thinking level in to the faculty type in the favor of the scientific faculties, and there were differences in metacognitive thinking level to the academic year in the favor of third and fourth year.

and there were differences in metacognitive thinking level in to the academic achievement level in the favor of the high achievers.
