At the turn of the twentieth century, Tlemcen became an important center for Orientalist studies during the colonial period.

Tlemcen school embraced the largest facet of French Orientalism, Making up a group of the brightest researchers in the field of humanities and social sciences.

Orientalism was the main field of studies in the school, and from within Orientalism comes the study of Arabic and Islamic issues.

In spite of the heterogeneity of these elites, which expanded the scientific research period in Tlemcen School and produced many researches in various fields, It is important to be sure of Tlemcen, which has become thanks to these orientalists.

A cultural bridge in which different trends represented in the cultural ideological trends between the Paris School and the School of Algeria, All this is within the framework of the dynamics of scientific research during the colonial period.
