In this paper, we address anti-dumping within the WTO as an exercise against international trade competition.

Commercial dumping, even if it is based on the principle of free prices, weakens the ability of national firms to compete with exporting international companies that resort to this practice in order to remove competitors from the market.

We have addressed the concept of dumping and its types, its negative effects, how to verify its existence, and the measures to be taken in the light of WTO agreements.

From the outset, the GATT 1947 ensured the combating illegal dumping of foreign goods in the markets of importing countries.

In addition, WTO provided Member States with the legitimate means to protect their national industry in a balance between the rights and obligations of those States and to recognize their right to fight it as a harmful practice to international trade competition.
