Abstract EN

The objective of this study was to analyze the impact of the components of economic growth on demand for labor in Algeria, based on annual data for the period from 1980 to 2014.

The results of the causality test indicated a one-way causal relationship between government expenditure and total capital formation to the labor force.

In contrast, results showed the absence of this relationship in either direction between total imports, total exports and labor force.

The analysis of impulse response and variance decomposition showed that most of the situational fluctuations in the labor force are due to the shocks of both capital formation and total exports, while the effect of government expenditure and total imports is small and marginal in the short, medium and long term.
