Abstract EN

This study aimed to recognize the morphological reality of the city by tracking the stages of urban and historical of growth and development through these stages.

To achieve the goal of the research, the researcher has been used in her study every ounce accessible from the research and studies that dealt with morphological growth of the city, which has been developed by the specialists in this area, and publications and scientific journals, and the relevant departments, as well as the field study, which had a clear role accessing to the information required by the study through direct observation and personal interview.

The research tried to indicate the emergence of the city of Kufa, morphological and phases of which make up the structure of the city.

The research reached to a number of conclusions, which is the final outcome through the study of morphological growth of the old city of Kufa since its inception until 2014.
