English Abstract

The continuous increase of internet penetration and smartphones evolution resulted in a dramatic increase of online shopping, subsequently increased movements of orders among countries through logistics companies, which lead governments to impose customs tariffs on online orders.

This thesis aims at utilizing business intelligence tools and data mining techniques to come up with models to help and enhance the logistics company’s future plans management.

For data understanding, descriptive analytic illustrations were used by utilizing Tableau.

For the customs model development decision tree and logistic regression models were utilized and a comparison was made and resulted in that decision tree outperformed logistic regression.

For the market segmentation simple k-means were used, all models were built by Weka.

The first objective’s models predicted the probability of an order being subject to customs and its tariff’s range, the other objective segmented the markets, thus it would help in enhancing targeted marketing, future collaborations, offers and warehouses management based on each market’s needs and demands.
