In the field of literature, throughout the years, creative people have got unique works putting them at the top of the creative list of artists.

The great Iraqi poet Mudhafar Al-Nawab is one of these for he has left a noticeable effect on the field of modern Iraqi literature.

He has become one of the most important political insurgents against the deteriorating life conditions.

This study being a descriptive, analytic method sheds light upon the image of the tragic hero in the poetry of Mudhafar Al Nawab such as Imam Hussein (p.h) and Khalid Al-Islambuli being two symbols searching for justice and confronting oppression and tyranny.
