aim of the research is to identify Thinking styles, "according to the theory of Sternberg" and symptoms of anxiety disorders, "according to the criteria (DSM-5)" among the students of the faculties of humanities at the Salahaddin University, Erbil, and to identify the nature of the relationship between the two variables, depending on the variables (Gender, Age, College) as well as the relationship of the symptoms of anxiety disorders with some organic diseases and unhealthy behaviors.

To achieve the objectives of the research, the researcher adopted Sternberg's Scale (Sternberg &Wagner.1997), and he prepared of a scale to measure symptoms of anxiety disorders and then make sure of the psychometric properties of the two scales a stratified random sample has been chosen, The final number of the sample reached (467) students, (232) males and (235) females, in(9) nine colleges.

The descriptive relational approach has been used, the results showed that all thinking styles are high and convergent at the level of significance (0.001).

The following styles (Executive, Monarchic, Liberal) were at the top of the highest levels of thinking styles among the members of the sample, the results differences in thinking styles, according to gender and age, but showed differences in thinking styles, according to colleges in (9) styles (Executive, Judicial ,Global, Local ,Conservative ,Hierarchical, Monarchic ,Anarchic ,Internal) at different levels of significance (0.05) (0.01) and (0.001 ).

While the results did not show differences between the colleges in four styles (Legislative, Liberal, Oligarchic, External), Symptoms of anxiety disorders was significant in all five sub-scales, the symptoms of (separation anxiety) was significant at level (0.01), while the other four sub-scales (Social anxiety, Agoraphobia, Specific phobia, Generalized anxiety) were significant at level (0.001) .There are differences between the sexes in the symptoms of the four disorders of anxiety disorders (Separation anxiety and Generalized anxiety) at the significance level (0.05) and (Agoraphobia and Specific phobia) at the level of significance (0.001), there were no differences in symptoms of (Social anxiety) disorder.

The results did not show differences by Age, but there were differences in the colleges according to the symptoms of (Social anxiety) disorder at the level of significance (0.05).

There is a positive relationship between some of the thinking styles and some of the symptoms of anxiety disorders at both the levels (0.05) and (0.01) among the members of the research sample.
