Abstract EN

This study carried out through March of 2013 to June of 2015 in Labrotary of Plant Tissue Culture of College of Agriculture, University of Basrah.

The aim of study was study of the effect of variety and sodium chloride (NaCl) salt and their interaction on acclimatization of potato plantlets of three cultivars (Lisseta, Arnova and Safari).

The results of study showed that plants of Lisseta and Arnova cultivars were significant superiority on plants of Safari cultivar in success percentage of acclimatization reached 83.82%, 84.28% and 54.97%, respectively.

The plants treated with 80 mM of NaCl were significant superiority on plants of two treatments (0 and 100 mM of NaCl) in success percentage of acclimatization that reached 84.01%.

While, the effect of two interactions between Lisseta or Arnova cultivars and 100 mM of NaCl treatment were significant superiority on other interaction treatments in success percentage of plants acclimatization, reached 92.56% and 90.45%, respectively.

Also, the potato plants of Lisseta cultivar were significant superiority on the other two cultivars (Arnova and Safari) in rates of plant height, leaves number and length of root system, reached (30.41 cm, 6.44 leaf/plant and 11.02 cm,) respectively.

But the results of study showed the significant superiority of potato plants that treated with 80 mM of NaCl treatment on potato plants that treated with 0 or 100 mM of NaCl treatments in in rates of plant height, leaves number and length of root system, reached 28.34 cm, 5.11 leaf/plant and 11.34 cm, respectively.

The plants of two interactions between Lisseta or Arnova cultivars and 100 mM of NaCl treatment were significant superiority on other interaction treatments in same of characteristics, reached (34.56 cm, 8.33 leaf/plant and 12.56 cm) and (33.45 cm, 7.50 leaf/plant and 12.20 cm), respectively.

The plants of Lisseta cultivar were significant superiority on the plant of Arnova and Safari cultivars in rates number, weight and diameter of tubers, reached 5.75 tubers/plant, 3.63 gm and 3.65 cm, respectively.

The plants that treated with 80 mM of NaCl were significant superiority on 0 and 100 mM of NaCl treatments in rates number, weight and diameter of tubers, reached 5.36 tubers/plant, 3.65 gm and 3.58 cm, respectively.

But the interaction treatment between Lisseta cultivar and 100 mM of NaCl were significant superiority on other treatments of interaction in the same of characteristics, reached 6.92 tubers/plant, 4.18 gm and 4.60 cm, respectively
