The Turkey's quest for membership in the European Union is a matter of status for the Kurds, and often these were described as organic important for Turkey and the starting point for the development phase in its history, linking its future with Europe tightly, it has sought since its inception to cut Asian roots and planted in Europe.

The ambiguity in the protection of minorities in EU legislation shaped a concern for the Kurds in Turkey, in light of growing doubts about the future status with the approach of Turkey towards membership in the European Union in despite the absence of a settlement Turkish- Kurdish, and this underlines the importance of the European Union's recognition, directing his attention to Kurdish issue explicitly, the implementation of his duty to press for the establishment of a true democracy, and respect for minorities in Turkey through the creation of a democratic platform to discuss possible solutions to the Kurdish issue.
