Global progress in the arena of media has bridged distances; however it is not without demerits.

Advertising may conduce to the infringement of interests and rights guaranteed by legislator, particularly adverts about products affecting health which are promoted by professionals including physicians.

So, there should be a legal frame for protection against advertising deception, and furthermore, resulting forms of crimes should be demonstrated.

Egyptian legislator classified advertising related crimes as economic crimes.

Article No 16 of Consumer Protection Law Implementing Regulation has set a definition for deception in advertising, and used both misleading advert and deceptive advert as synonyms despite their difference.

French Public Health Law has approved a number of principles in this regard, including taking advertising permission from Drugs Agency before advertising pharmaceutical products.

Professional Ethics Regulation of the same law prohibited physicians from practicing any acts that may be interpreted as trade in medicine profession.
