Abstract EN

Considering the legacy of Al-Ghazali’s literary works, it is worth noticing the diversity and variety of his sources regarding themes.

No one among the Islamic philosophers left that voluminous literature on philosophy, theology, logic, education, literature, Sufism and other topics but him.

Most important of all is his style and critics of science, and also his shift between proof and gratitude to demonstrate truth.

In the present article, we follow Al-Ghazali’s stages of thought to prove that he was a Mystic philosopher.

Beside, the diversity of his methodological tools is a proof that lays ground for this view.

Whether he makes use of logical proof, that is reasoning, or mystical meditation, that is intuition, they both converge in the fact that they refer to a pure philosophical mental activity.
