Abstract EN

This research is a comparative study of al-Taqiyyah according to the Twelver Imamates and Ahl al-Sunnah in terms of the linguistic and technical meanings of the term.

It discusses the emergence of the issue of al-Taqiyyah, its concept in the literature of the Twelver Imamates and Ahl al-Sunnah, its rulings and the evidence each party uses to support their views about it.

The research has reached a number of conclusions, the most important of which is that the Twelver Imamates' concept of al-Taqiyyah radically differs from that of Ahl al-Sunnah.
