This research aims at identifying the impact of teaching based on the cognitive studentship strategy to acquire biological concepts by the students at the second stage of intermediate school .
To achieve this goal, the research's experiment was conducted during the second semester of the academic year (2013 -2014) and for two months from 2nd of March until 1st of May on the students of second stage of intermediate school ( al-Rahman Intermediate School for Boys) affiliated to the General Directorate of Education in Diwaniyah .
Two classes were chosen randomly where B class represents the Experimental group that involves 35 students who studied according to the cognitive studentship strategy while C class represents the Control group that included (34) students have studied according to the traditional method .
The two groups were balanced according to the variables of time, intelligence, the former education and mid-year exam marks in biology class .
The researcher adopted the experimental design of the partial control where the extraneous variables have been controlled.
At the end of the research term, the results were statistically recoded.
The results of the tests showed that students of Experimental group are scoring better than the students of the Control group by getting better acquisition for the biological concepts.
The researcher reached a conclusion recommending many recommendations, including: adopting the cognitive studentship strategy for teaching biology for the students at the second stage of intermediate schools.
