Abstract EN

Studies have confirmed that psychological tests designed for the occidental cultures do not maintain acceptable levels of reliability and validity when translated ‘directly’ to other languages including the Arabic language.

Accordingly, this article deals with the possible aspects that can be focus-on in the adaptation and application of tests.

It also deals with objective factors that make a test established in a particular society not applied in other different societies due to social and cultural specificities.

In light of results of psychological studies and the current study, Algerian researchers are required to invest in adapting psychological tests and measurement tools or reconsider their validity in a decent and scientific manner so that they can accommodate to local culture.
