Abstract EN

This research deals with identifying the fundamentals of the civilized society in light of surat Al-Hujurat, which is about building the society.

It aims to reveal the content of the surat as of its fundamentals that build a society based on faith, brotherhood, obedience, etc.

It also indicates how the surat includes the approach for dealing with multiple types of society: the believer, the Muslim, the debauchee, and the hypocrite.

In this research, I have followed both the inductive and deductive approaches.

This resulted to several conclusions.

Most importantly, the concept of civilization in the Holy Quran is different from other physical concepts of civilization.

This difference is due to the principles and fundamentals upon which this civilization should be built.

If we want to know these fundamentals, we must refer to the Quran and study it with contemplation and observation to identify the principles and rules that are considered the fundamentals of building societies and individuals.

As a result of studying surat Al-Hujurat, we can extract eight main fundamentals for building the society.

They are: faith, obedience, brotherhood, justice, morals, equality, selfcensorship, and repentance.

The main recommendations of the research are, considering the issue of civilized fundamentals to build a society in light of the Quran; conducting independent studies based on each of these fundamentals; and finally, establishing research centers concerned with the reasons that led to the failure of Islamic societies regarding civilization, and to develop appropriate solutions.
