The issue of polygamy is one of the topics that raise the protest of many women's organizations and associations, which demand that the ban be expressly prohibited.

Some of them call for repealing the family law in its entirety and compensating it with laws that protect women's dignity .

This position has become the concern of the various segments of Algerian society, and has been so diverse and varied to the extent that this subject is a concern for many, especially women .

This prompted the Algerian legislator to introduce amendments to the Family Code by Order 02-02 on polygamy, and to restrict the husband's will in this regard, as well as judicial control in Articles 8 and 8 bis 8 bis of the same law.

What makes us women as to the extent of the powers granted to the judge with regard to the restriction of polygamy? What are the practical problems facing him.
