Abstract EN

This paper tackles the issue of the Algerian currency devaluation.

This process (the devaluation is being as one of the basic strategies adopted by several countries to ensure their external balance.

In this context, the Algerian authority embarks on a process on consecutive devaluations under multiple exchange systems.

The result of the devaluation policy undertaken by Algeria is represented by the growth of exports outside the hydrocarbon sector by 1,22 billion dollar in 2012 to 2.16 billion dollar in 2013, with a growth rate estimated at about 77%.

In this sense, the government agencies are called to make further efforts in an attempt to increase the productivity and the efficiency in the foreign markets.
