Abstract EN

This research is based on historical, economical, social and political documents which are available about Oman and Muscat City; and aims to picture the city of Muscat during the period between (1900- 1913).

Although every city has its own characteristics.

Muscat was one of the most distinctive cities in the Arabian Peninsula with its unique Architectural context and historical development as the capital of Sultanate Muscat and Oman.

The main focus in this effort was on the demographic and geographic dimensions in Muscat City, People, language, food, hand crafts, and the way of live, and trade exchange; with special attention to currency, measuring and weighting methods, defenses around Muscat and governmental buildings and administration.
